It has hydraulic brakes on both the front and rear wheels. This grom bike comes with the typical telescopic front fork and a single shock with a swing arm for the rear side.

It has a small size, is lightweight, and is relatively inexpensive. It is also known as a pocket-size motorcycle. Despite its size and short wheelbase, the cockpit can accommodate full-size adults. It is also noted for its easy maneuverability and fuel efficiency.

How to Increase the Speed of Honda Grom?

There are three ways that you can use to increase its speed.

  • Reduce The Overall Weight
  • Maintenance and Replacement of The Fork Oil
  • Invest in better brakes

Reduce the Overall Weight

To increase its speed first thing you can do is reduce its weight. For Instance, the curb weight of a Honda Grom is 223 lbs, but it would be best to sacrifice some performance criteria to reduce the bike’s weight so that you can travel faster. You can replace the stock lead-acid batteries with lithium-ion batteries. This will improve the fuel economy rating, acceleration, braking, and handling.

Maintenance and Replacement of the Fork Oil

If you want to increase its speed, the second thing you can do is take care of your bike and replace the fork oil in every regular maintenance. The 125 cc engine modification on your Grom bike becomes more rigid and inflexible when you refuel it with denser oil. To improve the single shock response in the rear tires, you should replace the old fork with thinner fluids, which flow faster.

Invest in better brakes

You can get decent performance from the standard Honda Grom components, but you won’t be able to reach your peak performance. I know you guys are wondering why we are discussing brakes in the speed performance section, so let me tell you, this Grom bike has rubber counterparts that expand at high temperatures which resists the speed; on the other hand, steel braided kits withstand high temperatures more efficiently and does not affect the speed. So it is recommended that these original braking systems be upgraded with higher-performance aftermarket products after tuning.
